CLOSING RITUAL
THE PERSISTENCE OF THE IMAGE

The Closing Ritual brings together all the works presented throughout ON SCREEN 2025, uniting the five seasons into a single, continuous flow of images. This final constellation highlights the festival’s core curatorial question: how do images persist—technologically, emotionally, and culturally—beyond the moment of their appearance?

ON SCREEN has become a significant international platform for contemporary video art, known for its critical engagement with digital aesthetics, posthuman narratives, and emerging audiovisual practices. The Closing Ritual embodies this mission: it is not an ending, but a renewed resonance, where every artwork returns to echo once more.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all participating artists for their vision, their trust, and their contribution to this global dialogue of moving images.

Human Echoes
Beyond the Digital Horizon

Human Echoes is not a catalogue. It is not a memoir. It is not a manifesto. It is a curatorial gesture — a living archive shaped by a curatorial heartbeat.

This book gathers a series of original essays that explore the post digital condition and the subtle, persistent echoes of human presence within technological systems. Each chapter examines a different layer of our contemporary reality: the moment we realize our tools are watching us back, the collision between body and network, the shifting authorship between artist and machine, the emergence of synthetic landscapes, and the spectral traces of residual data. Together, these essays form a conceptual journey through the world we now inhabit — a world where identity, memory, and perception circulate through algorithms as naturally as through flesh.

Alongside these reflections, Human Echoes presents the artists and video works that shaped the “ON SCREEN – VIDEO ART INTERNATIONAL STREAMING FESTIVAL.” They are not included as documentation, but as active interlocutors — creators whose practices illuminate the philosophical questions of our time.

By purchasing Human Echoes, you are not only acquiring a book. You are helping sustain an international platform for experimental video art, critical digital culture, and new forms of audiovisual creation.
