Human Echoes: Beyond the Digital Horizon
VIDEO ART
INTERNATIONAL STREAMING FESTIVAL
Vienna, Austria
PREMIERE SEASON 01
First Echoes:
The Algorithmic Turn
Welcome to the opening chapter of ON SCREEN 2025. First Echoes traces the contours of our contemporary condition —a world increasingly shaped by code, data, and computational thinking. The “Algorithmic Turn” refers not only to technical progress, but to a cultural shift —one where the boundaries between human memory and machine learning blur, where organic systems coexist with synthetic patterns, and where resistance and collaboration find new forms.
Through curated voices and poetic fragments, this season connects theory to feeling, abstraction to embodiment, and signal to echo. It invites us to reflect: What is the role of the algorithm in shaping perception? How do we reclaim agency within systems of automation? Where do bodies exist when data defines the terrain?
“The algorithm is no longer an instrument —it is the landscape. We walk its contours with memory, resistance, and poetic signal.”
